The two acts performed a new version of ‘Believer.’
Imagine Dragons took the stage at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. for their halftime performance at Monday night’s (Jan. 7) College Football Playoff national championship, with an unprecedented win for the Clemson team over Alabama (44-16).
The pop rock band opened with “Natural,” then followed up with “Thunder” and a short transition to “Bad Liar.”
The initial cool tones of the set abruptly changed to red flashing lights as Lil Wayne, wearing a large, black fedora and a multicolored fur coat, introduced himself with a rock rendition of his energetic “Uproar,” from his 2018 album Tha Carter V.
Imagine Dragons and Lil Wayne then debuted a new version of the ID hit “Believer.” “It’s Weezy the Dragon, I link with the Dragons/And we gon’ get ratchet, no need for Imaginin’/This is what’s happenin’,” Wayne rapped. The song was officially released after the show.
