Passion’s flame often burns brightest right before it goes out for good, and so is the sweeping feeling of Illenium’s latest ballad “Good Things Fall Apart” with singer Jon Bellion.

Illenium has always been good for an emotionally-fraught sing-alongs, and dance fans should recognize Bellion’s voice from Zedd’s “Beautiful Now.” This collaboration starts low with acoustic guitar picking and a beat hand drummed on its wooden body. Bellions works through self-depricating questions and now-painful memories as the song builds fast under the weight of heartbreak’s situation.

Just when he comes to terms with his lover’s disappearance, the song comes back down to match the quiet moment of acceptance.

Illenium has always been good for an emotionally-fraught sing-alongs. It’s a happy slice of emo-insired dance with a side of radio pop. “Good Things Fall Apart” is out now on Astralwerks. Watch the lyric video below.
