Barth Feldman and Angel will join a cast that includes ‘Drivers License’ hitmaker Olivia Rodrigo and ‘Lie Lie Lie’ singer Joshua Bassett.

The second season of the Disney+ show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will welcome two new faces to the returning cast, Billboard can exclusively announce today (Feb. 11).

Among the guest stars scheduled to join the cast for the series, which is currently in production in Salt Lake City, are Broadway vet Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen, Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical) and television/film star Asher Angel (Shazam!).

Feldman, who made his Broadway debut as the title character in the Tony-winning musical Hansen a year after winning the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Award (aka the Jimmy) as a high school sophomore, will play French exchange student Antoine in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Feldman is also slated to attend Harvard University next year.

Singer-songwriter Angel, known for playing Jonah Beck on the Disney Channel series Andi Mack and Billy Batson in the DC Universe movie Shazam! — and who recently released his Wiz Khalifa-featuring debut single, “One Thought Away” — will play a character named Jack, who is described as a “charming, smooth-talking student with wanderlust.”

“The cast and I are excited for fans to see how Andrew and Asher expand our East High cinematic universe,” said show executive producer Tim Federle in a statement.

The pair join the previously-announced slate of recurring guest stars: Derek Hough (Zack), Roman Banks (Howie) and Olivia Rose Keegan (Lily), as well as series regulars Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Joe Serafini, Mark St. Cyr and Kate Reinders.

Season two will follow the East High Wildcats as they prepare to perform Beauty and the Beast as their spring musical and face off against their rivals at North High to win a prestigious student theater competition. “Wigs are snatched, loyalties are tested, and ballads are belted,” according to the release announcing the second season, which will also feature new solos written by Rodrigo and Bassett.

Barth Feldman is represented by A3 Artists Agency. Angel is represented by Atlas Artists and Gersh.
