Halsey is still feeling very emotional following her recent split with rapper G-Eazy. The singer briefly began to cry while performing her song “Sorry” at the the Common Ground Music Festival in Lansing, Michigan, Friday (July 6).
While singing the lyrics, “Someone will love you/ But someone isn’t me,” Halsey paused and starting sobbing for a moment before continuing. Watch below.
On Tuesday (July 3), Halsey announced she was “taking some time apart” from her year-long relationship with G-Eazy.
“G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time.”
In May, Halsey opened up about her relationship with G-Eazy at the Billboard Music Awards, saying, “We’re both each other’s biggest fan and also each other’s hardest critic, so we can tell each other the stuff that other people might be afraid to say to us.”
The couple was known for publicly showing their affection, on stage and in the studio. Their hit collaboration “Him & I” was performed together often, and G-Eazy told Billboard just days before the breakup that the two were in the studio making more songs together.
