Rising pop star Grace VanderWaal swung by The Late Late Show With James Corden on Monday night (July 23) for the first time for a sweet and invigorating performance of her single “Escape My Mind.” Wearing a long, breezy white dress and sunny disposition, the singer closed the episode with a performance of the track from her debut album Just the Beginning.
Despite the song’s upbeat instrumentals and the singer’s young age, the track is an emotional piece about the struggles of having feelings for someone and being unable to stop thinking about them to the point of wanting to turn off your brain and “escape” your mind. VanderWaal’s performance was honest and energetic and showed that she remains incredibly confident and comfortable performing live, leaving the audience cheering for more.
The 14 year-old America’s Got Talent alum will be hitting the road later this year in support of her debut album and as an opener for Imagine Dragons.
