When Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” dethroned Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “OId Town Road” Monday (Aug. 19) to earn the No. 1 spot, Billie stans everywhere took to Twitter to celebrate.
Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus were certainly not bitter about the dethroning. The country crooner congratulated the 17-year-old singer on the accomplishment. “u deserve this!!” he wrote.
“Your persistence paid off,” Cyrus mirrored. “Thanks everybody. It was a hell of a ride.”
