During a recent episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, she and Ed Sheeran discussed their shared connection to Taylor Swift, agreeing that she is the ultimate way to energize a crowd.

Sheeran recalled the loudest audience he’s experienced, which happened when he brought Eminem on stage in Detroit in 2023. “We brought on Eminem, and that was the loudest I’ve ever heard a crowd — like, anywhere in the world,” he said. “There’s never been a louder crowd than that,” he added. “But I will say it’s because I brought Eminem on stage in Detroit. That’s the cheat code.”

When he asked Kelce who could have a similar effect in Philadelphia, she pointed to her brother-in-law’s famous partner. “I mean, I think Taylor, just because it’s home,” she said, referencing Swift’s roots in West Reading, Pennsylvania.

Sheeran responded, “I kind of think Taylor anywhere, though.”

Both Kelce and Sheeran have witnessed Swift’s impact on audiences. Kelce, married to former Eagles player Jason Kelce, met Swift in 2023 when the singer started dating Travis Kelce. Sheeran has a long history with Swift, having toured with her as an opener during the Red Tour and joining her onstage several times.

Reflecting on that time, Sheeran shared how his connection to Swift led to an unexpected interest in American football. “I moved to Nashville for Taylor’s Red Tour in 2013, and I got a place there,” he said. “I went to Walmart to buy bits to move in, and I just bought some pajamas. And then when I got home, I was wearing the pajamas, and when someone was around, they were like, ‘Oh, you’re a Titans fan.’ I was like, ‘Guess I am.’”

The interview comes ahead of Sheeran’s upcoming album Play, due out in September. He has already released three songs from the project: “Azizam,” “Old Phone,” and “Sapphire.”

This wasn’t the first time Sheeran talked about Swift while promoting Play. In April, on the Call Her Daddy podcast, he reflected on their friendship, saying, “I see her when I see her … Like, instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catchups, and I think that’s like a really nice way to do it.”
