Ed Sheeran has claimed his eighth No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with his greatest hits compilation +–=÷× (Tour Collection).
The album includes Sheeran’s popular tracks from his Mathematical album series: 2011’s + (Plus), 2014’s × (Multiply), 2017’s ÷ (Divide), 2021’s = (Equals), and 2023’s – (Subtract). It also features several songs from his 2019 album No. 6 Collaborations Project, including collaborations with Justin Bieber (“I Don’t Care”) and Rudimental (“Lay It on Me”).
Originally released in September 2024, +–=÷× (Tour Collection) has been on the charts for 14 weeks and peaked at No. 5 initially. The album received a surge in popularity during the holiday season after being released on vinyl for the first time, propelling it to the top spot in the first week of 2025 (Jan. 3). All seven of Sheeran’s studio albums have reached No. 1 in the U.K. over the past decade.
Sheeran’s +–=÷× Tour, which started in April 2022, will wrap up this year after 165 performances. His next tour stops will be in Bhutan on January 24, followed by concerts in cities across India, China, Qatar, and more, before returning to European stadiums in the summer.
In December, Sheeran hinted that his upcoming album would bring back the grander sounds seen in the compilation. “It feels like I’m getting back into big pop for the first time in a long time,” he told Variety. “It’s quite exciting.”
Sheeran’s most recent studio album, Autumn Variations, released in 2023, reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, there was minimal change in the top five this week, with Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet at No. 2, SZA’s SOS at No. 3, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess at No. 4, and Charli XCX’s Brat at No. 5, all maintaining their positions.
