Renowned music producer DJ Khaled is entering a new phase in his career through a collaboration with Influence Media Partners, launching two joint ventures as announced by the company on Tuesday. As part of the agreement, Influence Media has acquired a stake in Khaled’s music catalog, although the financial terms have not been made public.
The partnership aims to go beyond music, with plans to develop film and television content and enhance branding opportunities through the use of Khaled’s name, image, and likeness.
Khaled expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “I’m proud that my legacy will continue to resonate and connect with audiences around the world with this partnership through Influence Media.” He emphasized the importance of his “iconic recordings” and said that they will be managed in a way that continues to shape culture, while he also looks forward to the upcoming film and TV productions with his team at We The Best and Influence.
Influence Media, backed by BlackRock and Warner Music Group, has become a prominent player in the music rights acquisition space since its founding in 2019. The firm has previously secured rights from artists like Future, Enrique Iglesias, and Blake Shelton. Lylette Pizarro, co-managing partner and founder of Influence, referred to the Khaled collaboration as “an alliance that will create boundless opportunities for this creative genius.”
According to Pizarro, “Influence Media was founded on the principle that music can move culture, and few entertainers embody this more than DJ Khaled.” She highlighted his artistic vision and sharp business sense as key factors in what makes this venture particularly promising.
DJ Khaled, widely recognized for producing chart-topping tracks such as “I’m The One,” “All I Do Is Win,” and “Wild Thoughts,” recently announced his 14th studio album Aalam of God, which is scheduled for release in 2025. The announcement came via a seven-minute teaser video that hinted at a collaboration with Drake.
Rene McLean, CEO of SLANG—Influence’s label and publishing arm—praised the partnership, saying, “DJ Khaled has had so many iconic eras in his career to date, and we couldn’t be more excited to build ‘another one’ through this first-of-its-kind partnership.” He compared the significance of this collaboration to the honor artists feel when working with DJ Khaled himself.
