Demi Lovato has sent some words of support to Taylor Swift following the release of Swift’s new album, Lover.

On Monday (Sept. 2), Lovato shared her thoughts about Swift’s new music on her Instagram Stories. First, she posted a screenshot of “Cruel Summer” playing on her phone and calling it “a jam,” and then took it a step further with another heartfelt note.

“Life’s too short for women to not support other women.. especially when women release great music. Great job @taylorswift,” Lovato wrote.

Swift soon caught wind of Lovato’s post and responded with one of her own.

“This is so awesome & put the biggest smile on my face,” Swift wrote on a screenshot of Lovato’s Instagram Stories post. “Thank you @ddlovato.”

The display of kindness follows a dispute between Swift and Lovato’s manager Scooter Braun, who recently purchased Swift’s music for $300 million. During the incident, Lovato came to the defense of Braun, urging her followers to look at both sides of the situation and asking them to “please stop ‘dragging’ people or bullying them.”
