What’s the best way to say “I love you?” Flowers are fine, but a permanent corporeal tribute is way better. Chrissy Teigen went there on Tuesday when she posted a video documenting her visit to L.A. tattoo artist Winter Stone, during which she got the lyrics from husband John Legend’s Bigger Love song “Ooh Laa” inked in delicate cursive lettering down her spine as he crooned the song to her and helped gently place the template on her back.
The clip chronicles the process, but also features a bit where Legend asks his beloved if she could recall the first time she heard the song ooey gooey lines, “It’s ooh la That’s the only music that I wanna hear/ Is ooh la/ Get a little louder, scream it in my ear, yeah/ Spin it ’round, let it bounce some/ Up and down, think we found somethin’/ Smack it, flip it, rub it down/ To the sound of ooh la.”
Surprisingly, Chrissy wasn’t sure. “I don’t remember! I remember the first time I heard ‘All of Me,'” she said. “I remember the first time I heard… honestly, most of your songs. But not this one.” John remembered, though and, shocker, it was in their bedroom. “We had to test run it, make sure it worked… it worked,” Legend reminded her, noting they played it “on repeat.”
Stone posted a black and white snap of the finished product, writing, “@chrissyteigen @johnlegend what a blessing to honor Chrissy with this ooh laa tattoo down her spine! John wrote this sexy song for her so naturally she should have it tattooed on her right?!!! And if you haven’t heard BIGGER LOVE John’s new album: listen it’s so good!”
