Chappell Roan sought an apology from a photographer on the red carpet during the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Guts World Tour.” She accused the photographer of “being disrespectful to me at the Grammys” and claimed they had “yelled” at her at a Grammy party, as seen in a video of the confrontation that has been shared online.
In the “video,” Roan is heard requesting an apology, stating she “deserve[s] an apology for that” and insisting, “You need to apologize to me.” The photographer remains silent initially, but Roan continues to press for an apology until someone assisting her on the red carpet pulls her arm to intervene.
Earlier this year, Roan had a similar encounter on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. Variety captured the moment on video, where she retorted to a photographer who shouted “Shut the fuck up” with “You shut the fuck up.” As of the publication of this article, the identity of the photographer involved in the latest incident remains unknown.
Roan attended the premiere on Friday, taking a moment away from her busy festival schedule. Recently, she has spoken about struggling with the “overwhelming” emotions tied to her rapid rise to fame. She has quickly become one of the biggest stars, achieving this status within just a year.
“I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health,” Roan shared in a statement she released in late September after canceling two appearances. “I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding. Be back soon xox.”
