Carly Rae Jepsen takes the term “bedroom pop” to a new level with her new video for “Want You in My Room,” which premiered Thursday (Sept. 19). Jepsen’s single from May captures her tender affection tinged with a mischievous ideal of romance for the leading man.

The three-minute, cheery visual takes place in the span of an hour, according to her Google Home that ticks down the minutes until her man finally comes over. In the meantime, she jams out in her floral-printed bed with her hairbrush as a microphone, promising, “I keep a window, for you, it’s always open.”

The titular line in the chorus isn’t delivered by Jepsen herself, but by an unseen electronic murmur reminiscent of Daft Punk. The synth-pop earworm follows Jepsen’s makeup and wardrobe prep, as she sings the rather suggestive lyrics “I wanna do bad things to you/ Slide on through my window.”

The 33-year-old pop star entertains herself in the living room that comes to life, where the plants play sax and the dresser strums the guitar. But the show ends (and the fun begins) when he knocks on the door and her Google Home alarm chimes simultaneously. She greets her lover in a classy black off-the-shoulder dress, throwing the flowers he greets her with behind her shoulder and dragging him by the tie inside.
