Camila Cabello is showing her love for the environment with a brand new tattoo. On Sunday (Nov. 7), the singer took to Instagram to share a photo of the new ink — which is located on the back of her neck — and shared that it’s inspired by mother nature.
Cabello’s photo showcases a zoomed-in look at the tattoo, which features a thin braid looped into a spiral. In the caption of the post, the 24-year-old wrote, “The word ecology is derived from the Greek word ‘oikos,’ the word for home. – braiding sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.” She continued, “This book on Indigenous wisdom and plants changed my life. After I read it, I knew I’d never look at the earth and all of it’s inhabitants the same. It taught me about reciprocity, about the gift and wisdom in Mother Nature, and that when we heal the Earth, we heal ourselves. ‘All flourishing is mutual.’ So glad @kanenavasard and his talent helped me honor this special book today.”
Cabello got her first tattoo in November 2019 on her pinky finger, script lettering that read “it’s a mystery.” In an Instagram of the singer showing off her new ink, the singer wrote, “Never thought I’d get a tattoo before but I asked my mom to write to me a promise she’d want me to make to her that she thought I would need for the rest of my life, long story short, it’s a pinky swear to her to remember, no matter what happens, everything is gonna turn out well. There’s no telling how, but it always does.”
The singer is currently gearing up to release her third studio album, Familia, soon. Although the album has no release date yet, lead single “Don’t Go Yet” reached No. 47 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and placed at No. 26 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
