Jin, a member of the global supergroup BTS, is preparing to release his second solo album titled “Echo.”
This much-anticipated project follows his debut solo effort “Happy,” which came out just six months ago. It marks a new chapter in his personal and artistic growth as he heads into 2025.
According to a press release shared alongside the album news, “Aiming to connect on a deeper level with fans through music, ‘Echo’ offers Jin’s perspective on universal life experiences, capturing everyday emotions with warmth and sincerity.” The statement adds that the album is “built on dynamic band sounds” and highlights Jin’s ability to explore a range of moods and genres. His vocal performance on this album is said to reflect both increased emotional depth and storytelling maturity, underlining the ongoing evolution of his artistry.
Outside of music, Jin has also been broadening his presence in the entertainment world. He recently appeared in the Netflix Korean variety series “Kian’s Bizarre B&B,” where he co-runs a quirky bed-and-breakfast on South Korea’s scenic Ulleungdo island alongside webtoon creator Kian84 and comedian Ji Ye-eun of “SNL Korea.”
“Echo” is scheduled to release globally on all major streaming platforms on May 16. More information about the album is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Born Kim Seok-jin, Jin first rose to international fame as a member of BTS, the Grammy-nominated K-pop powerhouse that has reshaped modern pop music since their 2013 debut. His earlier solo songs like “Awake,” “Epiphany,” and “Moon” have showcased his unique vocal tone and emotional sensitivity. In 2022, he teamed up with Coldplay on the collaborative single “The Astronaut.”
The unveiling of “Echo” comes during an especially busy period for Jin, who recently participated as a torchbearer for South Korea in the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay, just before launching his debut solo project “Happy.”
