On Tuesday (April 20), BTS‘ V uploaded a nearly two-minute snippet of an unnamed solo track, which could serve as a preview of the mixtape the singer has been teasing since last June.
The ballad finds the K-pop superstar singing in a near-whisper over ghostly piano, showing off a more intimate side of his personality.
A fan translation of the lyrics reads as: “I see the clouds outside are still walking in the sky/ And the ruffling of my bed covers/ Slowly, slowly fades away/ Slowly, slowly the night fades away.”
The tweet does not reveal the name of the song, but includes a caption reading “Sleep” along with a zzz emoji. After an exhale, V also sings a verse in English.
“Can I go to bed & sleep tonight?/ May I lean my body on you now?,” he sings. “May I lean my body on you, tonight/ Day and night, I think of you/ In my dreams.”
Back in February, V finally released some details about the long-awaited solo mixtape during a “BE-hind Story” teaser in which all seven members interviewed one another about the recording process of their BE album.
In the minute-long clip, V revealed that there will be 13 tracks on his forthcoming project, which ARMY have been tagging as KTH1, after his given name Kim Tae-hyung.
