Billy Eichner arrives at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Feb. 24, 2019 in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Harry Styles may not be the next Disney prince, but rest assured, Billy Eichner is willing to stand in.

The comedic actor took to Twitter Tuesday (Aug. 13) to vie for the role of Prince Eric in the upcoming live-action remake of Little Mermaid, following reports that Styles passed on the offer. “I’m ready,” he tweeted along with an article with the Harry news.

Though Styles has not confirmed or denied the Little Mermaid reports, a couple of other key character roles have already been filled. Chloe x Halle’s Halle Bailey will play Ariel, and Melissa McCarthy was recently announced as the evil sea witch Ursula. Actress/rapper Awkwafina has been in talks to play Scuttle, Ariel’s seagull friend; 12-year-old Jacob Tremblay has also been reported to play Flounder, Ariel’s right-hand fish.

As for Eichner, while he seemingly hasn’t been part of the Little Mermaid negotiations, he does have recent Disney experience. The Billy on the Street star voiced Timon in the live-action reboot of Lion King, which just hit theaters last month.

Little Mermaid will be directed by Rob Marshall, also producing the film alongside Marc Platt, John DeLuca and Lin-Manuel Miranda. A release date has yet to be announced.

Check out Eichner’s Little Mermaid proposal below, and keep your eyes peeled for Disney’s decision on Prince Eric.
