“Therefore I Am” is her fourth ruler.
Billie Eilish claims the record outright for the most No. 1s among soloists in the history of Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart with “Therefore I Am,” which rises to the top of the ranking dated Feb. 6.
“Therefore” is Eilish’s fourth No. 1 on the tally, all logged since May 2019, when “Bury a Friend” ruled for two weeks. Fellow two-week leader “Bad Guy” followed that summer and “Everything I Wanted” reigned for five frames beginning in February 2020.
Eilish’s four No. 1s are the most for a solo act in the Alternative Airplay chart’s 32-year archives, breaking her out of a tie with Beck (three leaders between 1994-2017) and Alanis Morissette (three, 1995-96).
Additionally, Eilish, 19, rewrites the record for most Alternative Airplay No. 1s by a woman or a band with female vocals, passing the three each for Morissette, The B-52s and The Head and the Heart.
Concurrently, “Therefore” ascends 4-2 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart with 4.9 million audience impressions, up 1%, according to MRC Data.
Elsewhere at rock, the track rises 34-33 on Adult Alternative Airplay. It also lifts 9-8 on Pop Airplay and bullets at No. 16 (after reaching No. 15) on Adult Pop Airplay.
“Therefore” is currently a standalone single from Eilish, who last released a multi-song project when LP When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? arrived in March 2019. A three-week No. 1 on the Billboard 200 that hasn’t yet fallen out of the chart’s top 40 over its entire run, the set has earned 4.6 million equivalent album units to date.
