After previously headlining halftime shows at Super Bowl XLVII and Super Bowl XV, Beyoncé is set to take the stage once again for another NFL halftime performance. The 32-time Grammy-winning artist will perform during Netflix’s first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday, which will be streamed live on Netflix on December 25, the platform confirmed on Sunday. Her performance will occur during the halftime of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game, held at NRG Stadium in her hometown of Houston.
While specific details about her performance are being kept “under wraps,” Netflix has revealed that Beyoncé will perform songs from her latest album Cowboy Carter. This will mark the album’s first live performance since its release in March 2024. The album, her 11th studio project, features tracks like “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “Blackbird,” “16 Carriages,” and more. Netflix has also teased that the singer is “expected to feature some special guests” from the album, though the identities of these guests have not been disclosed. Cowboy Carter includes collaborations with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, and others. Additional performance details are still under wraps.
The NFL Christmas Gameday event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET on December 25, with the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game being the second of two games streamed live on Netflix. The first game, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, will air at 1 p.m. ET. This event marks the beginning of a new annual tradition for Netflix.
“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be exclusively available on Netflix.”
Hans Schroeder, NFL Executive Vice President of Media Distribution, added, “We couldn’t be more excited to be the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world. The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition, and partnering with Netflix, whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”
