Bebe Rexha has released a confessional new music video for “I’m a Mess,” off her debut album Expectations, today (July 19).

The video features Rexha being carted around and dancing through an old school insane asylum, complete with sterile white walls and straightjackets.

In the comments section of the video, the fast-rising pop star details that mental health is the inspiration behind both the song and music video.

“I have been very vocal and honest about my ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression,” Rexha writes. “I wanted to create a video and song that expressed my truth. This video is a celebration of me finally being able to accept my imperfections. I’m okay with not being okay all the time. If you feel alone or lost please know you are not, and you are loved.”

Expectations was released on June 22 and features the chart-dominating track “Meant to Be,” which features country duo Florida Georgia Line.
