Anne-Marie Plays Impromptu Free Show After Korean Performance Canceled Due to 'Structurally Unsafe' Stage

Anne-Marie was thrown a curveball this Sunday (July 28) when her performance at the Holiday Land festival in South Korea was canceled after the stage structure was deemed unsafe, but that didn’t stop her from playing for her fans. The singer put together an impromptu, free set at another location that night.

She first broke the news of the scrapped festival performance on Twitter, sharing a video message that said, “I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ve been told that the stage I was performing on is structurally unsafe so I’m not going to be able to go on…I’m not allowed to go on, and I’m so sorry. I’m so annoyed, and I’m just gonna cry in my room the whole night.”

However, a few hours later she posted again, announcing that she’d be performing at the Paradise City Main Hotel for free. “We didn’t want you guys to go home without seeing us perform,” she said. “We’re going on at 11:30. Be there. It’s free.”

During the performance, she became choked up as the dedicated fans who showed up chanted “Don’t cry” in Korean.
