After a long two years, the wait for a new Dua Lipa album is almost over. The singer took to social media on Tuesday (Oct. 1) to announce that new music is coming soon.
“A new era! Thank you for your patience. See you soon #DL2,” Dua wrote.
She accompanied the caption with three selfies of her with freshly colored blonde hair. On Instagram, she surrounded her announcement with two black screens captioned with “back,” “soon” and black heart emojis.
Back in April, the singer tweeted that she was in the studio working on her second album and that it would include “a lot more live instrumentation.” She’s been seen in the studio with Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams.
#DL2 will be the first collection of new songs released by Dua Lipa since her 2017 eponymous debut album, which included her breakthrough hit “New Rules.” Since then, she has collaborated with Calvin Harris on “One Kiss” and Silk City (Diplo and Mark Ronson) on “Electricity.”
The release date for #DL2 has not yet been revealed. Check out the full announcement below.
