No shade here! Taylor Swift opened up “From the Vault” to release “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor’s Version)” on Wednesday (April 7), and Sophie Turner had something to say about the tune.
In the hours since the song’s surprise arrival, Turner praised “Mr. Perfectly Fine” on her Instagram Story and wrote, “It’s not NOT a bop.” Swift saluted the Game of Thrones actress by writing on her own Story, “forever bending the knee for the [queen] of the north.”

Regardless of queens supporting queens, fans have been speculating that the Fearless-era tale of romantic woe written in 2008 is shading Swift’s ex-boyfriend and Turner’s husband, Joe Jonas. “Me in 2020: life is chill, writing songs based in fiction to avoid drama, feeling pretty grown up,” Swift tweeted while announcing “Mr. Perfectly Fine” earlier in the day. “My 2008 music from the vault, in a goblin voice: ‘REELEEEEEEASE MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE.'”
When promoting the original Fearless record in 2008 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Swift threw Jonas under the bus by detailing exactly how he ended things with her. “I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18,” she told the talk show host. Swift returned to DeGeneres’ program in May 2019 and described the “most rebellious thing” she did as a teenager, which was was “put Joe Jonas on blast on your show.”
The pop superstar has since made her peace with Jonas after the Swifties presumed she had sent him and Turner a baby gift after dissecting the lyric from her Folklore track “Invisible String”: “For the boys who broke my heart/ Now I send their babies presents.”
Here’s how fans have been reacting to the actress enjoying “Mr. Perfectly Fine”:

An invisible string in the Swift universe also connects the lyrics between the new song and “All Too Well” from her 2012 album Red. The chorus of “Mr. Perfectly Fine” includes the line “Hello Mr. ‘Casually cruel’/ Mr. ‘Everything revolves around you,'” which resemble the bridge of “All Too Well” when she sings, “And you call me up again just to break me like a promise/ So casually cruel in the name of being honest.”
