Bebe Rexha Responds to Rumors About Her Death: ‘I’m a Ghost’

False reports about Bebe Rexha dying from a drug overdose have circled the internet, but the singer assured she’s having the last laugh — literally.

“Jeez I stay off line for three days and not only am I dead but I died of a drug overdose?!?!” Rexha wrote on Twitter Tuesday night (Feb. 2) before conducting a quick Google search of herself and finding “bebe rexha dead” as the third result.

The 31-year-old artist later called out the “messed up” tweet citing a fake CNN report of her death that allegedly included a statement from her family, and a separate “fake buki message” that a fan received from the “Baby, I’m Jealous” singer’s mother, Bukurije Rexha.

She made light of the grave situation by claiming she was a ghost and recorded a short chilling song about it using the voice tweet feature. “Bi— I’m a ghost/ Bi— I’m a ghost/ Bi— I’m a ghost/ I’m a ghost/ Boo bi—, I’m hiding in your closet,” she sang jokingly while chuckling at the end.

Rexha has been active on Instagram since the hoax made the rounds on Twitter, posting videos of herself playing a Britney Spears record at home as well as her new manicure.
