One Direction may be on hiatus, but the band members support each other no matter what.
Liam Payne recently chatted with Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast, where he sweetly put his former bandmate Harry Styles on the “Nice List” this year, citing the “Adore You” singer’s ability to stay true to himself.
“He’s never really lost himself, even in spite of everything after the band,” Payne shared, before noting that he and Styles hadn’t been in contact “for a long time” following the band’s split in 2015. “Then I remember seeing him…it was actually at Jingle Bell Ball, backstage for the first time in a long time…and he’s still the same guy he was when we left each other in that dressing room as the band kind of stopped for a little bit.”
Kemp then mentioned Styles’ stunning Vogue cover, which was criticized by conservative commentator Candace Owens, who demanded for society to “bring back manly men” on Twitter and called the singer’s outfits “steady feminization of our men.”
“Oh, I thought it was great, you know,” Payne said of Styles’ response to the controversy. “I think he’s enjoying himself and he’s free to do as he wishes. There’s been a lot more stuff going on this year than whether or not he’s wearing the right clothes in someone else’s mind.”
