Fresh off her gig as the Grammy Awards’ host towards the start of 2020, Alicia Keys took her talents to a tinier stage, and now the performance has finally arrived.
NPR took to Twitter in February 2020 to reveal that the “Girl on Fire” singer had recorded a show for their popular Tiny Desk Concert series. “@aliciakeys #tinydesk,” NPR simply tweeted out alongside photos of Keys at their Washington, D.C. offices. “That’s it. That’s the post.”
Now, the Tiny Desk has been uploaded on Monday (June 22). “Alicia Keys has an aura that you can sense the second she enters a room, or in my case, an elevator,” NPR’s Abby O’Neill writes of the performance. “She radiates compassion and kindness. This spirit is the key to Keys’s songwriting, which is rooted in introspection and mindfulness.”
