Ariana Grande is keeping things intimate with her new video, “In My Head,” which was produced and directed by Vogue, and uploaded alongside her August cover story today (July 9).
With Grande dancing around in her own little, brightly-lit diva box and breaking out some signature shoulder pops and ponytail flips, the star is literally taking us inside her mind. Directed by Bardia Zeinali, the singer is dressed in a puffy black number and her infamous ponytail as she’s seen strutting around the all-white box.
Even her now iconic over-the-knee boots make an appearance by themselves, dancing on their own and making audible taps on the floor. Slight changes were also made to the song, slowing things down and emphasizing certain lyrics at times.
It’s no secret Grande loves to play with trippy effects (see: “No Tears Left To Cry”), and there’s no shortage of them this time around, but now it’s a little more intimate, with Grande batting her eyelashes deep into the camera and singing some of her most vulnerable lyrics to date.
