Demi Lovato started an online fundraiser for GLAAD via Facebook on Tuesday (June 26) to celebrate Pride and raise money in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Setting her goal at $5,000, the singer exceeded it within just a couple hours with $7,500 raised and growing.
GLAAD is a non-governmental media group that amplifies queer voices and holds the media accountable for how they tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people with the help of grassroots organizations. Lovato was honored at the Annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2016 and has been a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Join me in supporting a good cause,” she wrote. “I’m raising money for GLAAD and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps.”
