TheThe medley came during the nightly “A Minute and a Glass of Wine” segment of Clarkson’s show.
There comes a point during every Kelly Clarkson show where the singer breaks things down for a couple of minutes and treats her fans to a killer cover while enjoying a glass of vino. During her signature “A Minute and a Glass of Wine” spot at NYCB Live in Long Island, New York, last Thursday (March 7), though, she tripled down with a medley of some of her favorite tunes.
“I love Cardi, I’m a big fan,” Clarkson said during a rant about Cardi B, revealing to fans that she has tried to pull off some of the moves in the stripper pole-fueled video for “Money” in some shady hotel rooms to no avail. “I love Post Malone. I could put his stuff on and just let it go. There’s few people that I could just put an album on and I’m cool with every song.” While introducing the medley, Clarkson also said that Lauryn Hill is one of her favorite artists of all time, adding, “I love that Miseducation of Lauryn Hill record, I think it changed all of us in some way.”
The soulful mash-up kicked off with a soulful run through Post’s “Better Now,” complete with a string section and a jazzy bossa nova beat, which skipped into Cardi’s “Be Careful” and then a chorus of Hill’s “Ex Factor.”
