Longtime pals Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have a lot to celebrate right now, with both receiving Grammy nomination news. Their self-titled albums released this year are both nominated for best pop vocal album, while Mendes is up for song of the year with “In My Blood” and Cabello is in the running for best pop solo performance with “Havana.”
So it makes perfect sense that the pair — who were both on the lineup for this year’s Z100 Jingle Ball in New York City on Friday (Dec. 7) — would want to sit back and bask in the glory of a good week.
On Sunday afternoon, Cabello shared a photo on Twitter in which she’s casually holding a banana while Mendes appears to be braiding her hair. Plenty of “Real Friends” commentary ensued as fans reacted to the picture.
At Jingle Ball, Mendes chatted with Billboard about Cabello: “I love her,” he said. “One day, I’m sure that we’ll write another song together. Millions of songs together.”
Cabello also had some very kind words to say about him — even though they’re competing for the same award at the Grammys: “I love Shawn. If he wins, it’ll be like if I win.”
