The Chainsmokers during a surprise appearance at a Lost Kings show at Belly Up Aspen
Imagine you’re at a Lost Kings show. You’re dancing and having a great time jamming to the duo’s hits “Phone Down,” “First Love” and more, when suddenly, from out of nowhere, Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers The Chainsmokers show up to grace the decks, drop some tunes and absolutely go bonkers. You’d lose it, right? That’s what the sold-out crowd at Belly Up in Aspen, Colorado, did this weekend.
Lost Kings were billed to appear with “special guests.” The Chainsmokers appeared halfway through the three-and-a-half-hour performance. It was a surprisingly intimate moment for the duo that usually plays huge festival stages and stadiums. The Chainsmokers worked through hits “Closer,” “Roses” and “All We Know,” plus remixes of “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” by Kanye West, Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” and more.
“Friday was one of the most special nights that we’ve ever had at the club,” Belly Up co-owner Danny Goldberg is quoted in a press release. “It’s one thing to book and make incredible concerts happen at Belly Up, but it’s another story when we are able to create this type of memorable moment for everyone involved. It all came together so naturally, from the minute Rob and Nick (Lost Kings) hit the stage, the room was electric, and it progressively went up levels as the night went on. This was by far the most fun back-to-back and surprise show I’ve ever seen or been involved with.”
